Sheri Uhrin has worked at the Ohio School for the Deaf since 1993 as the school’s Transition Services Coordinator, where she assists students in their pursuit of education, employment, and independence after high school.  She is responsible for writing and developing individual transition plans for students and provides case management services. She helps students explore post-secondary education options and links students to resources in their communities. Sheri has a Bachelor of Science degree in Vocational Rehabilitation from the University of Wisconsin-Stout, and A Master of Arts in Rehabilitation Counseling for the Deaf from Gallaudet University.  Sheri established and was the head coach for the OSD wrestling team for ten years.  "People begin to become successful the minute they decide to be."  “There is no elevator to success, you have to take the stairs.”

Nancy Swisher

Nancy Swisher, Career Assessment Specialist /4+ Program Coordinator

She joined OSD in October 1988 as the new Culinary Arts Teacher. She taught Culinary Arts for 20 years and then moved to the Transition Department as a 4PLUS Teacher. 4PLUS is a unique transition program for students who want post secondary support. Nancy also is the Career Assessment Specialist at OSD. Nancy helps direct students in taking a variety of career exploration standardized assessments and evaluations. She also interprets results and assist students with career and post-secondary information,
Nancy has a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics Education from THE Ohio State University and a Master of Education in Special Education from Ashland University and a Transition to Work Endorsement from Wright State University. 

-Our certified career assessment specialist , she not only works with our students in completing their career assessment, she is available to  provide career assessments/consultation to deaf/hard of hearing students and their local school districts.  In addition, Nancy works with our 4+ students as they start their journeys with off campus employment & living experiences.  Nancy follows the school calendar. Hours: 7:30AM – 3:30pm Phone: 614-728-1448  Email: Swisher

Bill Newman

Bill Newman, DACC Liaison/4+ Teacher

- Our liaison for those students who attend vocational training at the Delaware Area Career Center (DACC) as part of their education/vocational training program.   In addition, Bill works with Level” P” work experience students and our new 4+ students as they start their journeys with OSD and on/off campus employment & living experiences.  Bill follows the school calendar. Hours: 7:30AM – 3:30pm Phone: 614-728-1431 Email: Newman
